Not sure about you, but I am personally very happy that it is Friday, and I am looking forward to this three-day weekend. It may sound strange, given that I have technically been on lockdown in my home for approximately 10 weeks now… But, I am indeed still happy to be home, thankful to be healthy, and glad to not have to work for a few days. It’s a good time to relax with family, binge watch some tv and even get out for a walk or drive, if the weather holds up.
… However, somewhere in the mind of my alter ego Amethyst, I am looking forward to the day when I can again step out in style – dressed up, made up, and someplace to go! Yes, I want to wear my favorite make-up and high heels, with some chiffon or silk, with my loveliest jewelry, with some false lashes too… And all without having some of it rub off onto a surgical mask. I know… it sounds incredibly superficial and vain, but it’s the truth. Underneath all of my gratefulness, I am longing for a day in the hair salon and getting my eyebrows threaded! And I am also longing to shop for some new shoes and makeup! Just because…. that is exactly the type of therapy that I am looking for right about now… especially on this holiday weekend… when sales are usually abundant in the various shops and boutiques.
So, in the essence of thinking of the good ole’ shopping days, I have collected a few photos of Amethyst’s favorites… high heels and make-up!. If I had to pick a third word to incorporate into my blog name, it would be heels! (If you haven’t already, check out my post What’s in a Name? to read about the actual meaning of Tiaras and Lipstick.) Either way, I have come across a number of pictures that make me feel pretty and help to satisfy my therapeutic need.
